An Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was martyred and three other soldiers were injured in an encounter with terrorists in Kistwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place in Drabshala area on Thursday night, where the army and local security forces were engaged in an anti-terror operation.
Details of the collision
After receiving information about the presence of terrorists from secret sources, the army started operations in Drabshala area. A team led by the JCO surreptitiously surrounds the terrorists hiding and an encounter ensues. The clashes escalated when the terrorists suddenly started firing.
JCO was also seriously injured in the gunfight and died before he could be shifted for treatment. Three soldiers were also injured and are currently undergoing treatment at a local army hospital.
